Applicants 18 years of age or older who establish an unemployment insurance benefit account between March 16, 2020, and December 31, 2020, are eligible for unemployment benefits while attending, doing distance learning through, or on vacation from secondary school.

Eligible weeks include periods between academic years or terms, provided the applicant meets all other eligibility requirements under Minnesota Statutes chapter 268.

This temporary modification expires December 31, 2020.

The section is effective the day following final enactment and applies retroactively from March 16, 2020.
