Authorizes extended unemployment benefits from the Minnesota unemployment insurance trust fund for workers laid off due to COVID-19 by iron ore mining employers or suppliers to those employers.

Eligible applicants must have a majority of wage credits from an iron ore mining employer or mining supplier, have exhausted all available state and federal unemployment benefits, and meet regular unemployment benefit requirements under Minnesota Statutes section 268.069.

Extended benefits are available for any week through March 31, 2021, with receipt deferred until federal unemployment benefits are fully exhausted.

Effective the day following final enactment.
