Chief law enforcement officers must report each incident of law enforcement use of force resulting in serious bodily harm or death to the superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension using information requested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The superintendent shall adopt a standardized reporting form for use by law enforcement agencies and must include all information requested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in each report.

Reports must be filed monthly by chief law enforcement officers in the form required by the superintendent.

The superintendent must summarize and analyze the collected information and submit an annual written report to the chairs and ranking minority members of house and senate committees with jurisdiction over public safety.

The superintendent shall submit the use of force information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
