Amends Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 268.085, subdivision 2, to allow high school students to be eligible for federally funded unemployment assistance, including the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation program, if they meet federal eligibility requirements.

High school students in attendance at or on vacation from secondary school were previously ineligible for any unemployment benefits; the exception permits eligibility only for federal programs, not state unemployment benefits.

The change applies to students during periods between academic years or terms.

The effective date is the day following final enactment and is retroactive to March 16, 2020.
