Assigns prosecutorial authority for all peace-officer-involved deaths to the Minnesota Attorney General rather than county attorneys.

Defines "officer-involved death" as a death resulting from a peace officer's use of force while on or off duty but performing law enforcement duties.

Allows county attorneys to assist the Attorney General in prosecution upon request and requires local law enforcement agencies to cooperate with the Attorney General to the same extent they would with a county attorney.

Amends Minnesota Statutes section 8.01 to reference the new section 8.37 authority and amends section 388.051 to exclude officer-involved deaths from county attorney prosecutorial duties.

Appropriates an unspecified amount from the general fund to the Attorney General in fiscal year 2021 for conducting criminal prosecutions of peace-officer-involved death cases.
