H.F. No. 75 - GI Bill Technical Changes

• Amends Minnesota Statutes section 197.791 to make technical corrections to the Minnesota GI Bill program for veterans and their families.

• Clarifies eligibility criteria for educational assistance to include veterans, nonveterans with 5+ years of cumulative service in the Minnesota National Guard or other U.S. armed forces components after September 11, 2001, and eligible surviving spouses or children of deceased or disabled service members.

• Maintains educational assistance limits of $3,000 per state fiscal year and $10,000 lifetime for full-time students, and $500 per semester for part-time students.

• Establishes apprenticeship and on-the-job training assistance limits of $3,000 per fiscal year for each category, plus $1,000 job placement credits, with $5,000 annual and $10,000 lifetime aggregate caps.

• Renumbers subdivisions 5a, 5b, and 6 to become subdivisions 6, 7, and 8 respectively.
