Prohibits state and local units of government and law enforcement agencies from acquiring military grade weapons through the Pentagon's 1033 program under the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 1997 (10 U.S.C. § 2576a)

Defines "military grade weapons" as militarily equipped vehicles and aircraft, weapons and other objects designed primarily for military purpose or offensive capability, and ammunition

Excludes non-weapons items from the definition, such as generators and medical aid equipment

Creates new statute in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 626 to codify the prohibition
