School districts may employ short-call substitute teachers who meet professional requirements under Minnesota Statutes section 122A.181, subdivision 2, without standard licensing requirements in chapter 122A

Each assignment replacing a teacher of record is limited to a maximum of 15 consecutive school days

Districts must report all short-call substitute teachers employed under this provision to the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board in the form and manner determined by the board

Districts must affirm that each employed short-call substitute teacher meets the required professional qualifications

This provision is effective for the 2020-2021 school year only
