Teachers physically assaulted by a student must receive a copy of the report to the commissioner submitted for the incident.

School boards must include state student identification numbers on all disciplinary reports and report annually to the commissioner summary data on dismissals and physical assaults of district employees by students, disaggregated by age, grade, gender, race, and special education status.

Classroom teachers must be notified before students with a history of violent behavior, including documented physical assaults of district employees, are placed in their classroom.

Paraprofessionals assigned to work alone or regularly with students with disabilities must be notified before assignment if the student has a history of violent behavior, including documented physical assaults of district employees.

Students who engage in assault or violent behavior must be removed from class immediately for at least three school days; a teacher may appeal the principal's removal decision to the superintendent or charter school director, and the student cannot return until the superintendent's decision is issued.
