Modifies the definition of "housing with services establishment" to clarify it means an establishment providing sleeping accommodations to adults (at least 80% age 55+) and offering health-related or supportive services for a fee, effective August 1, 2021.

Establishes dementia care training requirements for housing with services establishments with special dementia programs, requiring supervisors to complete 8 hours initial training within 120 working hours of hire and direct-care staff to complete 8 hours within 160 working hours, with ongoing 2-hour annual training for all staff.

Requires housing with services establishments providing assisted living services under chapter 144G to meet reduced dementia training standards of 4 hours initial training for supervisors and direct-care staff within specified timeframes, with 2-hour annual refresher training.

Updates the definition of "assisted living facility" to clarify it means an establishment where an operating person or legal entity provides sleeping accommodations and assisted living services to one or more adults, excluding housing with services establishments and certain other residential settings.

Repeals Minnesota Statutes 2018 sections 144D.01, 144D.015, 144D.02, 144D.025, 144D.03 (subdivision 1a), 144D.04 through 144D.11, and 144G.01 through 144G.06 effective August 1, 2021.
