Transfer $300,000 from the consumer education account in the special revenue fund to the general fund in fiscal year 2022.

Appropriate $300,000 from the general fund to the commissioner of education for grants to the Minnesota Council on Economic Education, with $150,000 allocated for fiscal year 2022 and $150,000 for fiscal year 2023.

Require the council to use grant funds for professional development for K-12 teachers in economic education, support direct-to-student economic and personal finance programs, and provide support to affiliated higher education centers at Minnesota State University Mankato, Minnesota State University Moorhead, St. Cloud State University, St. Catherine University, and the University of St. Thomas.

Require the Minnesota Council on Economic Education to submit annual reports to the commissioner of education by February 15 detailing the number and type of professional development opportunities provided, program content and location, number of teachers served, and evaluation summaries.

Direct the Department of Education to pay the full grant amounts on August 15, 2021 (fiscal year 2022) and August 15, 2022 (fiscal year 2023).
