Expands Minnesota medical assistance coverage to include prescription digital therapeutics by amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 256B.0625.

Defines prescription digital therapeutics as a product, device, Internet application, or other technology that is FDA-approved, cleared, or classified under sections 510(k), 513(f), or 515 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

Requires prescription digital therapeutics to have an approved or cleared indication for preventing, managing, or treating a medical disease, condition, or disorder, and to use software primarily to achieve its intended result.

Requires prescription digital therapeutics to be dispensed only pursuant to a prescription.

Takes effect July 1, 2022, or upon federal approval, whichever is later, with the commissioner of human services required to notify the revisor of statutes when federal approval is obtained.
