Amends Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 244.09, subdivision 10, to change the employment classification of Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission staff positions from unclassified to classified service, except for the research director position.

Compensation for the research director and other staff shall be established pursuant to chapter 43A, with staff reimbursed for expenses in the same manner as other state employees.

All unclassified positions at the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission (except research director) are placed in classified service without loss of compensation or seniority as of July 1, 2022.

Employees in unclassified positions on January 1, 2022, are not required to complete a probationary period when transitioned to classified service positions.

All provisions are effective July 1, 2022.
