Parents have the right to choose a high-quality, culturally affirming education for their children regardless of their zoned public school.

Parents may request that twins or higher order multiples be placed in the same or separate classrooms, and schools must comply unless the school board determines the placement is disruptive after the initial grading period.

Parents have the right to request a change of teacher for their child unless no other teacher is available.

School discipline policies must include requirements that students facing possible dismissal be notified of their rights including the right against self-incrimination, have a parent present during questioning, and that schools keep records of which employee made each discipline referral.

A statutory teacher code of ethics is established covering professional conduct standards including nondiscrimination, student safety, confidentiality, proper licensing, and prohibiting sexual contact with students; employment contracts cannot contain protections against discipline or termination for immoral, unethical, or illegal actions.
