H.F. 3112 Summary

• Prohibits the commissioner of corrections or human services from releasing a risk level III predatory offender into an unsupervised residential setting without at least 14 days' advance notice to the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction over that location.

• If the 14-day advance notice requirement is not met, the offender must be temporarily placed in a halfway house or similar supervised residential setting until the total advance notice reaches at least 14 days.

• Applies to offenders on supervised or conditional release or provisional discharge under chapter 253D.

• Does not require the commissioner of corrections to extend the offender's term of imprisonment or period of incarceration to comply with this requirement.
