Minnesota Department of Health shall design and implement an ongoing statewide public information program promoting early detection of Alzheimer's disease and cognitive impairment, including benefits of cognitive testing and early warning signs.

Program must include messages for the general population and targeted outreach to underserved communities including rural populations, Native and Indigenous communities, and communities of color through culturally specific messaging.

Messages may be disseminated via television and radio public service announcements, social media, digital advertising, print materials, and a community digital public forum.

Minnesota Department of Health may contract with third parties to carry out the program if the contractor has prior Alzheimer's awareness promotion experience and is selected through a competitive process.

$250,000 from the general fund is appropriated to the commissioner of health in fiscal year 2022 for the program, which must be developed by July 1, 2023.
