Prohibits insurers from refusing to issue or renew homeowner's liability insurance policies, canceling policies, or charging increased premiums based solely on the breed or mixture of breeds of a dog owned by the homeowner.

Allows insurers to refuse coverage, cancel policies, or impose reasonably increased premiums if a dog is designated as dangerous or potentially dangerous under Minnesota Statutes section 347.50.

Permits insurers to apply increased premiums or deny coverage based on sound underwriting and actuarial principles that are reasonably related to actual or anticipated loss experience.

Effective August 1, 2022, and applies to all insurance policies and contracts offered, issued, or sold on or after that date.
