Extends the maximum duration of transitional housing from 24 months to 36 months for homeless persons and families paying at least 25 percent of family income as rent.

Allows the commissioner to extend assistance up to 10 percent of program appropriations for persons needing help longer than 36 months.

Adds up to six months of follow-up support services for persons completing transitional housing as they stabilize in permanent housing.

Appropriates $9,000,000 from the general fund for the biennium ending June 30, 2023, for transitional housing programs, added to the base budget.
