• Specifies that "insurance policy" does not include workers' compensation insurance, health plans, nonprofit dental coverage plans, or certain written agreements authorized under specified statute sections.

• Maintains existing definitions of "insured" as a person or entity qualifying under policy terms and excluding third-party beneficiaries, and "insurer" as licensed insurers but excluding political subdivisions with self-insurance and the Joint Underwriting Association.
