Appropriates $150,000 in fiscal year 2023 from the general fund to the Department of Education for a grant to the Minnesota Council on Economic Education.

Grant funds must support teacher professional development in economic education for kindergarten through grade 12 teachers, direct-to-student economic and personal finance programs, and higher education-based centers at Minnesota State University Mankato, Minnesota State University Moorhead, St. Cloud State University, St. Catherine University, and the University of St. Thomas.

Minnesota Council on Economic Education must report annually to the education commissioner by February 15 detailing the number and type of professional development opportunities provided, including content, length, location, and teacher participation data.

Department of Education must pay the full grant amount by August 15 of each fiscal year, with the Minnesota Council on Economic Education required to submit fiscal reports as specified by the commissioner.

Sets the base appropriation for fiscal year 2024 at $300,000.
