City of Henderson is authorized to impose a one-half of one percent local sales and use tax upon voter approval at a general election.

Tax revenues must be used to pay collection and administration costs, and to finance up to $240,000 for the Allanson's Park Campground and Trail project including trail improvements, campground improvements, utility upgrades, and handicap access enhancements.

City may issue bonds under Minnesota Statutes chapter 475 to finance up to $240,000 of project costs, with bonds not subject to debt limitations or levy limitations and requiring no separate election approval.

Tax expires at the earlier of 15 years after imposition or when sufficient funds are collected to pay project costs plus bond issuance costs, with any remaining funds placed in the city's general fund.

Bill becomes effective the day after Henderson's governing body and chief clerical officer comply with Minnesota Statutes section 645.021.
