School districts must establish procedures for parents, guardians, or adult students (18+) to review instructional materials including textbooks, videos, prerecorded materials, and online resources upon request.

When a parent, guardian, or adult student objects to curriculum content, the school must make reasonable arrangements for alternative instruction, which may be provided by the parent or guardian if school-offered alternatives do not meet their concerns.

School boards are not required to pay for alternative instruction provided by parents or guardians, and school personnel may not impose academic or other penalties on students for arranging alternative instruction.

School personnel may evaluate and assess the quality of a student's work even when alternative instruction is arranged.

School districts must obtain written consent from a parent or guardian before providing sexual education instruction to a minor student.
