Requires all health plans providing maternity benefits to Minnesota residents to cover infertility diagnosis and treatment procedures that are medically necessary and recognized by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine or American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.

Mandatory coverage includes ovulation induction, artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, gamete intrafallopian transfer, oocyte retrieval and replacement, cryopreservation techniques, and micromanipulation of gametes.

Excludes coverage for surgical reversal of elective sterilization and expenses for donor gamete purchase.

Cost-sharing requirements for infertility coverage cannot exceed cost-sharing requirements for maternity coverage under the same health plan.

Effective August 1, 2022, for all health plans issued or renewed on or after that date; does not apply to plans under chapters 256B or 256L.
