Legislature may terminate a peacetime emergency declaration entirely or terminate any subsequent orders or rules issued by the governor directing a response to the emergency if it continues beyond 30 days, by majority vote of each house.

Governor must immediately notify legislative leaders (majority and minority leaders of senate and speaker and majority and minority leaders of house) when declaring a peacetime emergency.

If the governor seeks to extend a peacetime emergency beyond 30 days when the legislature is not in session, the governor must immediately issue a call to convene both houses of the legislature.

Governor's orders and rules issued during peacetime emergencies have the force and effect of law, but cease to apply if terminated by the legislature under this section.

Provisions are effective the day following final enactment and apply to peacetime emergencies in effect or declared on or after that date.
