School boards must report to the Commissioner of Education each student fight witnessed by a district employee within 30 days, using the department electronic reporting system.

Reports of student fights must include the student's age, grade, gender, race, and special education status, along with any alternative educational services or sanctions provided.

District employees who witness student fights must report the incident to their building administrator and file a police report.

The Commissioner of Education must annually aggregate district data on student fights witnessed by employees and include this data in school performance reports.

School boards must include state student identification numbers on all dismissal and disciplinary reports submitted to the department.
