Amends Minnesota Statutes section 604.21 to clarify that indemnity provisions in design professional services contracts do not apply when the indemnification obligation can be covered by insurance.

Voids and makes unenforceable any provision in a design professional services contract that requires indemnification for negligence or fault of anyone other than the indemnitee or those for whom the indemnitee is legally liable.

Applies to contracts involving licensed design professionals performing work or services related to maintenance or improvement of real property, highways, roads, or bridges in Minnesota.

Voids any provision in Minnesota design professional services contracts that makes the contract subject to the laws of another state or requires litigation, arbitration, or dispute resolution to occur in another state.

Takes effect the day following final enactment and supersedes any other inconsistent provision of law.
