Appropriates $255,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2023 to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a study on the early childhood education workforce in Minnesota

Study shall document workforce makeup across certified and licensed child care centers, family child care homes, Head Start programs, and school-based programs including Early Childhood Special Education

Study must analyze wages, income, benefits in the industry and barriers to entering or retaining workers in early childhood education careers

Study shall replicate data points from the 2011 Minnesota Department of Human Services "Child Care Workforce in Minnesota" study and be completed within 18 months

Commissioner may contract with another organization to complete the study; appropriation is one-time and available until December 30, 2023
