Allows school districts to levy for personnel costs incurred redacting educational data classified as private data in response to public data requests under Minnesota Statutes section 13.03.

Requires districts to calculate redaction costs using the salary and benefit rate of the lowest paid staff capable of completing redactions, or the district's standard cost for contracted legal services if required.

Permits member school districts of intermediate school districts to include their proportionate share of data request costs for the intermediate district upon board resolution approval.

Allows districts to spread the data request levy over a period not exceeding three years with commissioner approval.

Applies retroactively to costs incurred after January 1, 2021, and becomes effective for taxes payable in 2023 and later.
