Commissioner of health shall award grants for child mental health training programs located in outpatient primary care clinics focused on training pediatric primary care providers working with multidisciplinary mental health teams.

Eligible training programs must provide comprehensive clinical mental health assessments, potential pharmacological therapy, psychiatric consultation, longitudinal care emphasis, and develop community resource partnerships.

Grant funds may cover planning costs, training site improvements, fees, equipment, supplies, and support for clinical training at outpatient primary care clinic sites.

Commissioner shall award grants to support up to four training program proposals after reviewing applications for alignment with stated grant goals.

$1,000,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2023 from the general fund to the commissioner of health for the mental health training programs.
