Amends Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 609.527, subdivision 3 to modify identity theft sentencing penalties based on number of victims and financial loss amounts.

Establishes five tiered penalty structures: losses of $250 or less (single victim), $251-$500 (single victim), $501-$2,500 (two to three victims), $2,501-$35,000 (four to seven victims), and over $35,000 or eight or more victims.

Adds new penalty provision for identity theft offenses related to possession or distribution of pornographic work in violation of sections 617.246 or 617.247, sentencing to the highest penalty tier.

Effective August 1, 2021, and applies to crimes committed on or after that date.
