Requires motorcycle owners registered or operating in Minnesota to provide and maintain uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, effective August 1, 2022.

Coverage may be provided through an insurance contract complying with Minnesota Statutes section 65B.49, subdivision 3a, or by qualifying as a self-insurer.

Applies to insurance policies and contracts issued, sold, or renewed on or after August 1, 2022.

Maintains existing requirement that motorcycle insurance applicants receive written notice in at least 10-point bold type explaining that motorcycle policies only require liability coverage and that automobile insurance personal injury protection does not extend to motorcycle accidents.
