Amends Minnesota Statutes section 326B.36, subdivision 7 to clarify existing inspection exemptions for electrical utilities' load control equipment under the State Building Code.

Adds "load control" to the list of utility functions exempt from inspection, specifying that exempted installations must be used exclusively for generation, transformation, distribution, transmission, load control, or metering of electric current.

Creates new subdivision 8 establishing additional requirements for load control exemptions: work must be performed by a class A electrical contractor, applied only to replacement or repair of existing equipment for non-public utilities, and completed by December 31, 2030.

Maintains existing exemptions for street lighting operations, outdoor area lights, facilities under federal Mine Safety and Health Act jurisdiction, and elevator installations with certified inspectors.

Becomes effective the day following final enactment.
