Appropriates $2,500,000 in fiscal year 2023 from the general fund to the Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training for reimbursement grants to certified postsecondary schools providing in-service use of force training to peace officers.

Eligible training must satisfy Minnesota Statutes section 626.8452, be approved by the Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training, use scenario-based training with real firearms firing nonlethal ammunition, and be offered to officers at no charge.

Postsecondary schools receive reimbursement at $250 per participating officer and must submit the officer's name and peace officer license number for each trainee.

A portion of the $2,500,000 (percentage amount left blank in bill) is allocated for program administration and monitoring.
