School districts and charter schools must provide students access to menstrual products at no charge, available in restrooms used by students in grades 4 to 12, effective January 1, 2022.

Menstrual products are defined as pads, tampons, or other similar products used in connection with the menstrual cycle.

Operating capital revenue increased by $2 per adjusted pupil unit per school year to fund menstrual product purchases, effective July 1, 2022.

Operating capital revenue can now be used for supplies and equipment necessary to provide menstrual products at no charge to students in restrooms and other school facilities.

General education aid appropriations adjusted to $7,484,917,000 for 2022 and $7,644,819,000 for 2023, with specific breakdowns for each fiscal year.
