S.F. No. 3359 - Pig's Eye Landfill Task Force

• Establishes a Pig's Eye Landfill Task Force led by the Pollution Control Agency commissioner to coordinate remediation and restoration of the Pig's Eye Landfill Superfund site and address PFAS contamination in Battle Creek, Pig's Eye Lake, and nearby groundwater.

• Task force membership includes 10 state and federal agencies/representatives, the Metropolitan Council, Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District, and representatives from impacted local governments (St. Paul, South St. Paul, Ramsey County, and Dakota County).

• First meeting required by October 15, 2022, with monthly public meetings thereafter; members elect a chair, vice chair, and other officers annually.

• Task force must submit annual reports to legislative committees, with a final report due February 15, 2026, including site history, coordinated remediation plan, infrastructure needs, funding sources, and legislative recommendations.

• Appropriates $800,000 in fiscal year 2023 from the general fund to the Pollution Control Agency; funding available until June 30, 2026, when the task force expires.
