S.F. No. 3380 - Safe Schools Revenue Program

• Increases safe schools revenue minimum from $20,000 to $33,000 per district beginning in fiscal year 2024, calculated as the greater of $44 times adjusted pupil units or $33,000.

• Establishes safe schools levy at $36 times adjusted pupil units for fiscal year 2023 and later, with safe schools aid calculated as revenue minus levy times the ratio of actual to permitted levy amounts.

• Adds $18 per adjusted pupil unit in cooperative safe schools revenue for districts in cooperative units that enroll students, and sets cooperative levy cap at $15 times adjusted pupil units for intermediate districts.

• Provides $44 times adjusted pupil units in safe schools aid to charter schools and $44 times enrollment to nonpublic and American Indian Tribal contract or grant schools for fiscal year 2023 and later.

• Appropriates $17,262,000 from the general fund to the Department of Education for fiscal year 2023 to support expanded safe schools revenue program requirements.
