Appropriates $1,000,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2023 to the Commissioner of Agriculture for grants to secondary career and technical education programs offering meat cutting and butchery instruction.

Grants may be used for equipment, facility renovation, and faculty training costs related to meat cutting programs.

Individual grants are capped at $100,000, with up to 10 percent of each grant available for faculty training.

Priority consideration given to applicants coordinating with meat cutting and butchery programs at the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and local industry partners.

This is a one-time appropriation.
