Establishes medical assistance coverage for hospice respite and end-of-life care for individuals age 21 or under in licensed residential hospice facilities under Minnesota Statutes sections 144A.75 to 144A.755.

Recipients age 21 or under who elect hospice care retain coverage for treatment services related to their terminal illness condition, rather than waiving all curative care.

Payment rates for the new benefit match covered respite care rates under 1915(c) waiver programs, with payments made directly to residential hospice facilities rather than included in limits on hospice services provider payments.

Payments must be made from state funds, though the commissioner shall seek federal financial participation.

Federal Medicare certification of the residential hospice facility is not required as a condition for medical assistance payment under this benefit.
