SF4065 Summary

• Expands Board of Cosmetologist Examiners from 7 to 11 members, adding positions for an advanced practice esthetician, hair technician, and an additional public member, effective January 1, 2023.

• Extends license duration from 3 years to 4 years for all individual practitioners and salons, with corresponding updates to fee schedules and renewal periods, effective January 1, 2024.

• Creates new "hair technician" license category for persons who provide cosmetic care services to hair on the scalp, including cutting and chemical treatments, distinguishing from hairstyling services.
