$3,000,000 appropriated from the clean water fund in fiscal year 2023 to the Board of Water and Soil Resources for the Reinvest in Minnesota (RIM) Reserve Program.

Funds designated to purchase and restore permanent conservation sites through easements or contracts that treat and store water on land for water quality improvement purposes and related technical assistance.

Board must prioritize leveraging federal money by enrolling targeted new lands or environmentally sensitive lands with expiring federal conservation agreements.

Board may enter into new agreements and amend past agreements with landowners to allow for restoration activities under Minnesota Statutes, section 103F.515, subdivision 5.
