Appropriates $714,000 from the general fund to the Department of Education for fiscal year 2023 as a grant to the YMCA of the North for the Beacons School Success program.

Provides high quality after-school and summer school programming across the metropolitan area for children in kindergarten through grade 12, with focus on engaging young people as leaders and learners.

Requires the program to submit a description of goals and strategies to the education commissioner prior to award, consistent with evidence-based grant requirements under Minnesota Statutes section 127A.20.

Mandates a preliminary report on program status by January 15, 2023, and a final report consistent with Minnesota Statutes section 127A.20.

One-time appropriation available through June 30, 2025.
