• Changes subdivision 3 to focus on established relationships rather than the 12-month residency threshold, allowing grandparents or great-grandparents with an established relationship to petition for visitation.

• Establishes a six-month waiting period before filing a subsequent grandparent visitation motion after a prior motion has been denied.

• Repeals subdivision 7, which previously required courts to hold a hearing and prove by preponderance of evidence that interference would occur before denying visitation based on interference claims.
