SF 4524 Summary

• Appropriates $63,500,000 for preservation and replacement of state-owned facilities and recreational assets at state parks including Fort Ridgely, Fort Snelling, Itasca, Myre-Big Island, Tettegouche, Wild River, and William O'Brien State Parks, with funds usable for accessibility improvements, water system upgrades, and road and bridge repairs.

• Appropriates $16,000,000 for state park campground renovations statewide including shower and toilet building upgrades, accessibility improvements, electrical and utility upgrades, and low-energy heating and lighting systems at Beaver Creek Valley, Frontenac, Itasca, Old Mill, and Sibley State Parks.

• Appropriates $12,000,000 for development of Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park including visitor center, camping facilities, trails, and fire tower rehabilitation.

• Appropriates $4,800,000 for paved state trail renovations on Glacial Lakes, Paul Bunyan, and Munger State Trails, and $4,000,000 for acquiring private lands within state park boundaries and for state trail land acquisition.

• Authorizes the sale and issuance of up to $100,300,000 in state bonds to fund these appropriations, effective the day following final enactment.
