SF496 Summary

• Amends Laws 2020, First Special Session chapter 7, section 1 to extend waivers and modifications for human services programs issued in response to COVID-19.

• Modifies the 60-day transition period provision to reference subdivisions 1, 2, 4, and 5 instead of just 1, 2, and 4, allowing certain waivers to remain in effect for up to 60 days after the peacetime emergency expires.

• Creates a new subdivision 5 establishing a 180-day transition period specifically for the CV23 modification that modifies certain background study requirements issued under Executive Orders 20-11 and 20-12.

• The 180-day extension applies to the CV23 background study requirements modification and any amendments issued before the peacetime emergency expires.

• Both sections take effect the day following final enactment.
