Congratulates Kendal Jenkins, a Hastings High School senior, on receiving the 2022 Athena Award, which recognizes outstanding female athletes based on athletic excellence, leadership, character, and grade point average.

Kendal earned nine varsity letters competing in swimming and softball, including five all-conference selections in swimming and two in softball.

Kendal achieved 2021 Section 1AA individual champion status in 100-meter backstroke, qualified for state meet in multiple swimming events as all-state honorable mention, and earned Silver Slugger and MVP honors in softball.

Kendal maintains a 3.96 grade point average and participates in National Honor Society, Link Crew, Spanish Honor Society, and volunteer activities.

Kendal plans to attend University of Minnesota Duluth to major in exercise science and play softball on an athletic scholarship; the Senate directs the Secretary to send an enrolled copy of the resolution to her.
