Congratulates Elaina Jones of Minneapolis, Minnesota, for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award given by Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.

Gold Award recipients must complete leadership journeys and spend at least 80 hours planning and completing a comprehensive take action project that positively impacts their community.

Elaina's Gold Award project restored a prairie next to Northside Elementary School in Middleton and created a sustainability and education program with plant presentations, worksheets, and a mindfulness guide for teachers.

Elaina supervised student volunteers who removed invasive species and planted over 100 native prairie plants, and established a partnership between the Middleton Fire Department and school district for annual volunteer-based prairie burns.

The Senate directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and transmit an enrolled copy of this resolution to Elaina Jones.
