Senate resolution endorsing the creation of new Vet Centers in Minnesota to better serve the state's veteran population

Veterans experience mental health issues at higher rates, with the suicide rate for veterans estimated at 1.5 times higher than nonveteran adults according to the 2019 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report

Minnesota has the third-lowest ratio of Vet Centers to veterans in the United States (ahead of only Kentucky and Virginia) and has not increased its number of Vet Centers in over ten years

Vet Centers are proven to reduce veteran suicides and homelessness while effectively supporting the transition from military to civilian life and aiding veterans' families and communities

Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an enrolled copy of the resolution authenticated by the Secretary's signature and the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee
