Committee on Rules and Administration may assign matters to Senate committees and subcommittees for study and investigation during the interim between the 92nd Legislature (2022) and 93rd Legislature (2023) sessions.

Standing committees may study subjects within their jurisdiction and coordinate work with other Senate and House committees, potentially conducting joint studies.

Subcommittee on Committees shall appoint persons to fill vacancies in committees, commissions, and other bodies requiring Senate member appointments.

Committee on Rules and Administration shall establish employee positions, set compensation and benefits, authorize reimbursement of travel and conference expenses, and determine living expense reimbursement for Senate members during interim periods.

Secretary of the Senate continues duties during interim at 2022 session rates, may employ staff to finish current business and prepare for 2023 session, may correct Senate Journal entries, and with Committee approval may contract for printing, facility improvements, and supplies (contracts over $10,000 require Chair approval).
