Executive director of the Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement shall convene a working group to study 911 telecommunicator pension benefits.

Working group membership includes representatives from county and city associations, the Department of Public Safety, public safety communications officials, pension system executives, 911 telecommunicators from county/state employment, and members of correctional retirement plans.

Working group must submit a report to the Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement by January 15, 2022, recommending whether changes to pension plan coverage for 911 telecommunicators are appropriate, including potential changes such as moving them to correctional plans.

First meeting must be convened by August 1, 2021, with members electing a chair; working group may conduct meetings remotely and expires June 30, 2022.

Members serve without compensation, participation is not considered lobbying, employers cannot retaliate against participants, and the executive director provides administrative support.
