Prohibits denying a person the right to purchase, own, possess, or carry a firearm solely based on enrollment as a patient in the medical cannabis registry program.

Adds definitions of "medical cannabis," "patient," "qualifying medical condition," and "registry program" to Minnesota firearm statutes.

Clarifies that use of medical cannabis by a registry patient does not constitute unlawful use of a controlled substance for firearm eligibility purposes.

Prevents state and local agencies from accessing medical cannabis registry databases or inquiring about a person's registry status when evaluating firearm purchase or carry permit applications.

Prohibits sheriffs from denying firearm carry permits solely because an applicant is a medical cannabis registry patient, while maintaining restrictions on carrying firearms while impaired by cannabis.
